Residential Conversion & Extension



Urbis were engaged by our clients to review an existing planning consent which they had obtained for the reconfiguration and extension of their existing house with a view to improving the design to align closely with their aspirations for the development.

The building was an existing terraced house with an attached smiddy which was being utilised as storage and was situated within a conservation area.

We prepared layout options which illustrated that the space use could be maximised by the insertion of a mezzanine to provide an office/ study space and reorganised the ground floor of the house to provide a more functional layout.

Planning Consent and Building Warrant for the revised scheme were obtained and the project was completed in 2011.
